Stuart Gordon (*1947)

Stuart Gordon made his film debut at the age of 38. His first film RE-ANIMATOR was to become a big hit and still ranks among the favorite films of many horror film fans. Unfortunately, his reputation rests on his first two movies only, both of which are based on writings by horror novelist and short story writer H. P. Lovecraft. With THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM Gordon also filmed a story by Edgar Allan Poe. Gordon made most of his movies for the production company Full Moon Pictures. The following films are among Stuart Gordon's favorite movies: 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, THE WILD BUNCH, PSYCHO, THE TINGLER, and ROSEMARY'S BABY, the latter serving as a textbook when he made RE-ANIMATOR.
