Time-capsule from the early 70s has lost most of its charm. Pulp writer Caine travels to Malta, where he should pen a former Hollywood star's memoirs. However, real murders complicate his mission. Not much in terms of plot, this satire is still witty and funny, especially Caine's voice-overs. Written by director Hodges, who followed this with the interesting sci-fi thriller THE TERMINAL MAN.
