Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006, USA) C-83m. **½ D: Larry Charles. Starring Sasha Baron Cohen, Ken Davitian, Luenell, Pamela Anderson. Mockumentary, or better: shockumentary, from the British maker of the Ali G TV show Sasha Cohen. One of his characters from the TV show makes it to the big screen in this riotous comedy about a Kazakh journalist, who travels to the U.S. for reasons specified in the title. He meets and irritates quite a lot of people. While some scenes may be funny because they are outrageuos, Cohen also sadly degratifies an entire country with this farce. His Kazakh is sex-obsessed, offensive, mannerless and anti-semitic. Proceed at your own risk. Screenplay was nominated for an Oscar.
