Rock musician Rob Zombie (né Cummings) turns writer-director for this TCM-imitation where four travelling youngsters enter Captain Spaulding's Museum of Monsters and Madmen and end up on the dessert platter of none other than local legend Dr Satan. Starts okay, with creative video-style cutting, but soon it becomes clear that this movie offers only a freak show which is off-putting instead of frightening. Disintegrates completely in final third. Filmed in 2000. Followed by THE DEVIL'S REJECTS (2005).
