Bacon, who is now a cop, investigates and Robbins, a victim of sexual abuse, may be among the suspects. Somber, conventional, deliberately paced drama, based on a novel by Dennis Lehane, buoyed by three strong performances, most notably Robbins'. He and Penn won Academy Awards.
