Children's fantasy, based on a Russian fairy tale, about the adventures of a girl and a boy, who pass several adventures in a forest before finding themselves. Film is peopled by odd, almost grotesque characters, which makes it interesting to watch, but its sensibility is equally strange and color cinematography is sometimes so washed out it looks like black-and-white.
