Alex Proyas (*1965)

Australian music video and commercial director Alex Proyas became an instant cult director upon the release of the acclaimed "nightmare movie" THE CROW. It took him four years to release another film, DARK CITY. Both films are characterized by a city setting, darkness and rain. Interestingly, the direction of THE CROW was originally offered to Dario Argento.
