Drama about luckless and penniless French immigrant Gabin and frustrated waitress Miranda, who hopes for a better future. Gabin, however, seems to have lost all hope. Pessimistic atmosphere, combined with good use of setting makes this worth watching. It's closely related in tone to the Italian Neorealismo.
