American cult comedy duo made records and stand-up shows in the 1970s, which led to their big movie debut, UP IN SMOKE (1978), a demented drug comedy that spreads a lot of good vibes. Their success inspired several sequels to this hit, none of those really living up to their predecessor. Thomas Chong occasionally also took the director's chair. The duo sometimes included some of their stand-up routines and songs in their movies.
In the mid-1980s the duo split, reteaming only for cameo roles. Their last joint [sic!] venture to date was Chong's FAR OUT MAN (1990). Marin's career has been more substantial recently, with some roles in TV series and major film productions like FROM DUSK TILL DAWN or SPY KIDS. The filmography below omits Marin's work for TV.
