Starring Robert Redford, Brad Pitt, Catherine McCormack, Stephen Dillane, Larry Bryggman, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, David Hemmings, Charlotte Rampling. Redford plays a CIA man who is about to retire, when he hears of the imprisonment of a colleague he trained (Pitt). In flashbacks, we learn about the men's relationship, while there are only 24 hours for Redford to persuade the CIA to save Pitt from execution. Starts out interesting, but loses its way in the second half, when there is at least one flashback too many, making the story seem like a contrivance. The stars are good, though, as is Scott's direction.
