Based-on-fact drama about stoic aristocrat Irons' attempts to reverse verdict that declared him guilty of the attempted murder of his wife Close, who is now in a coma. Irons hires law professor Silver for the appeal. Very interesting narrative (with Close narrating!), film loses its momentum and suspense early on, but remains interesting throughout. Performances are all strong, Irons won an Oscar. Based on the book by Alan Dershowitz, written by Nicholas Kazan. Oliver Stone coproduced the film. Photographed by Luciano Tovoli.
