Period drama set during World War Two, about continuous attempts to crack German message code and expert Scott, whose involvement with femme fatale Burrows may be the key to solving the mystery of the code and unveiling a possible conspiracy against the British. Good production values, performances (especially lovely Winslet's) in diffuse film that you never completely figure out (not an intention by the filmmakers). Script by Tom Stoppard is an adaptation of Robert Harris' novel. Score by John Barry. Mick Jagger coproduced and appears in a cameo as a soldier.
