Captivating, richly textured thriller drama about photographers Mortimer and Harrelson who take the Transsib back from a stay in China. On the train they meet young couple Noriega and Mara, who are strangely nervous about police controls. Enter Russian police captain Kingsley, who is looking for the murderer of a drug smuggler. Unpredictable storyline, good characterizations, great settings and an excellent performance by Mortimer, a worthy follow-up to the director's THE MACHINIST (2004), although it does falter at the end a bit.
