Will Smith plays the title character, a superhero with qualities much like Superman, who is suffering from a burn-out syndrome. He'd rather spend his days drinking than doing something useful. Then he meets PR manager Bateman, who tries to improve his image in the public. Fast-paced, funny movie that's unfortunately a film without a soul. The emotional crescendo in the end seems fake. Still, Smith fans and action fans will get their kicks out of the star's performance and the over-the-top effects. Michael Mann and James Lassiter coproduced with star Smith.
