Marvelous, old-fashioned fantasy adventure set in 1899, where six super-heroes are gathered by Roxburgh in order to stop political escalation obviously brought about by a super-villain, which may lead to a world war. Among the valiant fighters: Allan Quatermain (Connery), Captain Nemo (Shah), the vampiric Mina Harker (Wilson), the Invisible Man (Curran), Dorian Gray (Townsend), and Dr. Jekyll (Flemyng). Plot is rather thin, but pace, twists and especially effects more than make up for it. Contains lots of references to films and literary works of the period. Great production design perfectly captures the Victorian Age. Based on the comic books by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill.
